Wino Pops Tamra’s Cherry!!
May 16th, 2008 by Dr. Death
Robert G. Mondavi — the 94-year-old Napa Valley visionary who put California wine on dinner tables around the world — died peacefully at home early Friday morning.
Bobby Mondavi’s passing was a sad event for most people, but I think our very own Tamra has mixed feelings about the whole event. You see, she used to work for Mondavi way back in the 90′s, and actually knew him fairly well. When I asked Tamra how she felt – whether she was conflicted between grief and points.
WAY more happy about the points than sad about the death. Are you kidding me? I didn’t want to end the year a GP virgin…. bring on the death and destruction!
Me? I never got the fascination with wine. When I have tried to drink it, all I can ever smell is vinegar, no matter how good the bottle is. So, all I need to know about wine is, I’d rather have a beer.
So, back to the topic at hand. Tamra had this guy on her list, and it was a solo shot. So, not only the bonus points, but he popped her GP cherry as well.
Mondavi is widely credited with being the driving force behind Napa Valley’s propulsion to the top of the wine world, a place where great grapes are grown and wines made, and where the industry thrives.
Mondavi earned the respect of the world as a symbol of Napa Valley premium wines, as one of the world’s leading innovators, producers and marketers of fine wine.
Driven by his belief that he could produce world-class wines here, Mondavi launched his own wine brand at age 53.

While my thoughts are with the Mondavi family at this time… I can’t help but have a happy little song, playing in my head that happens to include a happy little dance….
“I’m not a loser, I’m not a loser, I’m not a loser”
Thanks for the shout-out Dr. Death. And thank YOU Robert, RIP.
I’m on the board!
