I have been giving some thought to this cyber-bullying case involving Lori Drew and her daughter Sarah Drew, Ashley Grill, Megan Meier, and Megan’s family all centered in Dardeene Prairie, Missouri. While what Mrs. drew allegedly did was a despicable act of cowardice and immaturity, the long reaching legal implications are what interest me right now. Read more... A solo shot for Scott A as he moves into a tie for fourth place.
Pete Newell, the Hall of Fame basketball coach who became the first to guide teams to an NCAA championship, a National Invitation Tournament title and an Olympic gold medal, died yesterday in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. He was 93. He coached for 14years at San Francisco, Michigan State and Cal. He led San Francisco to the then-glamorous NIT title in 1949. His final coaching job came in the 1960 Olympics, when he took a U.S. team led by Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Jerry Lucas to a gold medal in Rome. Dean Smith and Bob Knight are the only others to coach teams to NCAA, NIT and Olympic championships. Newell later returned to prominence with his famous “big men” camps. He instructed some of the game’s greatest stars, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton and Shaquille O’Neal. Read more... (176 words, estimated 42 secs reading time)

Shot once, shame on me. Shot twice, shame on… oh hell, it just doesn’t matter at this point.
24 year old Donnell Mack of St. Louis was shot to death by a gunman wielding a semiautomatic assault rifle on Wednesday, November 12th. While not a spectacular story by itself, the follow up is pretty crazy. Mack was already on crutches from being shot this past February, and he was recovering.
When I read stories like this, all I can think about is:

Please don’t shoot me…. again.

For the 9th consecutive year, Ghoulpool.us will be as fun and rewarding as a game about dead people can be. And by my account, that’s a lot of fun!
Start getting your lists ready for submission, and go for the gusto. With a new pricing option allowing 3 lists for the price of 2, there’s no reason that you won’t get a bunch of dead people this year. And, well, that’s kind of the point. Read more... (296 words, estimated 1:11 mins reading time)

Margaret Kuhlman, 68, collapsed at the Blackhawks game against the Colorado Avalanche Monday night at the United Center. She was pronounced dead about an hour later at the local hospital.
I guess some people will do anything to stop the pain of being a Blackhawks fan. All I know is if I was born in the Chicago area and forced to watch the Hawks, it wouldn’t have taken me 68 years to figure out a solution.
