The screen legend Paul Newman has died at the age of 83 after losing a long battle against cancer.

Newman died yesterday at his farmhouse near Westport, Connecticut, said his publicist, Jeff Sanderson. He was surrounded by family and close friends.

Newman was nominated for an Oscar 10 times, winning a best actor trophy in 1987 for The Colour Of Money. The actor with the piercing blue eyes is best known for his leading roles in The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke and for playing opposite longtime friend Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Bob Evans Is Killing People

It was only just a little over a year ago that Bob Evans founder Bob Evans died at the age of 89. At the time, I was frankly amazed that the old dude lived that long, assuming he ate at his restaurants.

Well, now news that former CEO of Bob Evans Stewart Owens died as well. He died at the tender young age of 53 years old, proof positive that he enjoyed many Sunshine Skillet breakfasts during his tenure. He died Friday from gastric esophageal cancer, the company said. You don’t say.

Teammates called him “Psycho” because of his fearless style of play and reckless style off the field. And his ability to play through pain was legendary.

But Headrick, one of the most colorful characters during the formative years of the Chiefs franchise, died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. He was 71.

Headrick, inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1993, was a five-time AFL All-Star and the franchise’s starting middle linebacker in the 1962 and 1966 AFL championship games and the first Super Bowl.

Brent scored with 98 year Anita Page, one of the very few silent film actresses to live into the 21st century. I could write about her, but instead I’ll just point you towards her Wiki page.

After hearing the news, Brent decided to audit his players to see if any other had kicked? Guess what?

On May 25th, J.R. Simplot, the nation’s 89th richest person and potato guru died at the age of 99. Here’s his Wiki page.

So Brent picks up 64 points for Page, and 57 for Simplot.
